287th Sustainment Brigade

The 287th Sustainment Brigade, Wichita, was deployed on July 13, 2008 in support of Operation Iraq Freedom.  Sent to Ft. Lewis, WA for train-up, it was later deployed to Iraq.    Its mission in Iraq is to provide logistical support for United States and coalition forces.  Commanded by LTC Robert Schmitt, Olathe, the unit returned to Kansas in August of 2009.
